BYTOM – AT THE CROSSROADS OF MUSIC AND ACTING

Tomek Lipiński and Dawid Ogrodnik are the protagonists of the latest BYTOM campaign, which continues to promote the brand, referring to Polish culture and art. This time the brand presents two generations of different artists: musician and actor. An incredible duo of different personalities and generations was joined by music, which became the main theme of the campaign and photos of the latest collection of BYTOM.

The Bytom Spring-Summer 2019 collection presented by the protagonists is a clash of two strong trends. It is a collaboration of the present with the past in the classic style of men’s fashion. On the one hand, it is a vintage spirit close to the BYTOM brand, whose history begins in 1945, reaching back to the style of the not-so-old 80s, i.e. the general trend in world fashion. On the other hand, it is a stage extravagance of jazz and swing musicians (jazz music has been recorded in the history of culture and art of the 20th and 21st centuries and is a part of the world cultural heritage, which the BYTOM brand wants to emphasize).

The first trend is manifested in wide lapels both notch and peak style as well as looser cut of the suit. The combination of colours and patterns – in this case wide stripes in a shirt versus tennis in a suit – refers directly to the stylization of musicians of the 80s. Strong, navy blue stripes emphasize rock independence, while red stripes form clearly a provenance of the punk style. The colours used in the collection are also not strictly classical. Navy blue, blue or light grays revolve around their warmer tones, also bringing the character of past years, retro style. The second exposure of the evening character is featured by a strong contrast between the white of the jackets and the deep black of the trousers. And here is a direct reference to jazz or even swing improvisations. White shirts with wide collars combined with white jackets with prominent peak lapels, have been combined “with a slight wink of an eye” with exaggerated accessories in the form of a powerful bow-tie or a black rose in a buttonhole. The whole collection is made of the best quality Italian shirt and suit fabrics, sewn in Polish sewing rooms.
